QUIET WEEK-END FOR Q.A.T.B.

The week-end was a quiet one for the Ambulance bearers when most calls to claim their attention were not of a major nature. 

Two residents of Cluden sustained injuries necessitating treatment. P. Turner was treated for a lacerated wound to the right foot cause when he stood on a wooden stake. W. Coughlan tangled with the wrong end of a snake whilst working in the yard of his home, and he was conveyed to the General Hospital for observation and treatment for snake bite. 

N. Green, of Chapman Street, was transported to the General Hospital by the Brigade for treatment arising out of an accident when he was struck on the head with a cricket bat. 

 During the course of his employment J. Wallace, of Railway Estate, struck his leg on a case and was treated for a lacerated wound to the leg and conveyed to the General Hospital. 

When he fell from a motor bus, P. Roy 8 years, of Jones Street, received contusions to the temple and abrasions to the knee. He was also taken to the General Hospital for treatment and observation for concussion.

Falling while taking part in a sports programme at Bluewater Creek, Allan Bloomer, 20 of 5 Walker Street, City. received abrasions to the stomach and chest and probable injuries to the chest at 2.30 on Sunday afternoon. After treatment at the Ambulance centre, he was conveyed to the General Hospital for examination. 

At 5.52 on Sunday afternoon the Ambulance received a call to proceed to Garbutt where they found a 15 month old child John Harris, of Neenan Street, had drunk kerosene. The child was transported to the General Hospital for treatment.
