Widening of Sydney-street soon
City Council workmen will start widening Sydney-street between Alfred and Shakespeare streets within a few days.
Chairman of the council's Works and Town Planning Committee (Ald. J P. Casey) said this last night.
When money was available, it was panned to widen two further city streets later this year, he continued.
These would be in Wood-street between Gordon and Shakespeare streets and Gordon-street from Brisbane to Wood-street.
The streets would be sealed to the full width of the roadway with pre-mixed bitumen, he said. - Background
